Rowing is the ultimate team sport! It teaches you about communication, leadership and character. Rowers will learn about time management and dedication so they can have respect for themselves, their teammates, coaches and family. Rowing is a sport that you can do for the rest of your life, it will challenge you physically and mentally. It's an excellent aerobic and anaerobic workout without the risk of many injuries so participants of all ages are welcome! On top of all of this, rowing brings people together for life-long friendships.
During this summer camp, participants will become rowers. They will learn the lingo, how to get in and out of a boat, how to use an oar, how to carry boats and oars, and work with a large team and what it means to be a teammate. This camp is for ages 12-16 years old, athletes of all sizes welcome, no experience necessary. Registrants should bring water in a reusable bottle, a packed lunch and extra weather appropriate clothing. $300/session. If you sign up for the 2nd and/or 3rd sessions, you will receive a $50 discount to each session. Need-based scholarships available.
Session1: July 8th-19th, Monday- Friday, 9am-2pm.
Session2: July 22nd-Aug. 2nd, Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm
Session3: Aug. 5th-16th, Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm
The last Friday of each session will be a team race followed by pizza and water. Potluck items welcome too.
Perhaps you have a son or daughter or friend that rows? Maybe you have been to a regatta or just seen our youth crews on the water as you drive by? Ever wonder what it would be like to row? Rowing is a great way to get and stay in shape at all ages. Being on the water in a rowing shell is a lot better than a machine in a gym. We row in 8-oared shells. You will find out what it is like to be in a crew. You'll get hands on training by our experienced coaches. Open to Adults ages 21+
What to bring: Water bottle, sneakers, workout clothes, hat and sunscreen. Arrive 10 minutes early.

We will send an email out to the entire session a week prior to the start date.
Adult Learn-to-Row Extended
This is specifically for rowers who have completed a Learn-to-Row session. A registration code will be provided to register once LTR is completed. We continue practicing the basics adding more pairs in at one time, learn how to feather your blade and work as a team in sync.
$200/session. Under 26 years old- 50% discount

Session2: September 10th- October 6th, Tuesdays 6-8pm & Sundays 9-11am
For any adult that wishes to learn the 'proper' rowing technique on a Concept2 rowing machine and how it correlates to rowing on the water in a shell.
Cost: $120/session. Under 26 years old- 50% discount

All rowers MUST watch the USRowing Safety every year:
All rowers and coxswains should be able to swim 150 yards competently and remain afloat for at least 5 minutes. If a rower or coxswain is not a strong swimmer, please inform all your coaches and the Director of Rowing. Safety is our biggest priority.
