These are high school club programs. Ages 14-18 years old. Rowers from WNY schools and home-schooled youth participate and compete wearing the BSRA argyle. Rowing is a sport for anyone, whether you are a star athlete in another sport or joining a team for the first time. Rowing is the ultimate team sport, unlike any other. All members will find a place where they fit in and are appreciated for who they are. There are competitions and events for Varsity, JV and Novices. The coaches work hard to make sure all rowers get a chance at competing in a rowing shell each season. Rowers will build new friendships through this sport that will last a lifetime and life skills such as leadership, communication and accountability are tested at every practice and race.

Rowing is a non-impact and non-contact sport. Cross training does include impact exercises, but coaches have alternative exercises for those who need a strict non-impact workout. This sport is ideal for athletes who have previously participated in a contact sport and sustained knee or head injuries.

Team BSRA rowers and coxswains attend schools all over WNY including: St. Mary's HS in Lancaster, Mount Mercy Academy, City Honors, Lancaster HS, Hamburg Central HS, Clarence HS, Bishop Timon-St. Jude, Lockport HS and Buffalo Public Schools.

We welcome you to join our team!

Please contact us at if you need financial assistance.

General Memberships = $100 annually - this must be paid upon first season of rowing.

If a rower only ends up rowing one season, you can request a 50% refund of General Membership.

All rowers MUST watch the USRowing Safety every year:

All rowers and coxswains should be able to swim 150 yards competently and remain afloat for at least 5 minutes. If a rower or coxswain is not a strong swimmer, please inform all your coaches and the Director of Rowing. Safety is our biggest priority.
